Ayurvedic Rescue for the Fall Season
Here, some easy tips from Ayurveda to secure your well-being and raise your energy levels.
1. Detox and Add Moisture to Your Skin with Fresh Aloe Vera Leaf
As the days get cooler and drier, your skin will need more moisture.
Eat ½ tablespoon of organic aloe from a fresh leaf (easily found in health stores) to moisturize your body from the inside out.
You’ll notice that redness and dryness in your skin will disappear in a short time.
Also, isn’t it amazing that in Indian lore fresh aloe vera was believed to give your skin the same luster of a Kumari (or young girl)?
I think so. And it’s probably because aloe is both an effective blood purifier and a rejuvenative (or destroyer of old age).
So it also works as a gentle detox.
Ayurveda, in fact, teaches that removing toxins is key for increasing your energy levels and strengthening your immune system.
2. Drink Warm Water
Warm water reduces internal dryness and the jittery feelings we get in windy, colder days. It also removes toxins accumulated in the summer.
Another Ayurvedic step to stay healthy this fall is increasing your water intake if you consume coffee and caffeinated teas (which can further dehydrate your body).
3. Go to Bed Earlier
Ayurveda reveals that being asleep between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. helps repair the body, and rejuvenates you.
This means that even if you sleep 10 hours between 2 am and 12 noon you won’t get the same refreshing and energizing effects.
